1. You will learn a few hand sewing techniques that are often used to prepare fabrics for permanent stitching. The hand sewing techniques include running stitch, backstitch, hemming stitch and vertical stitch.
2. After learning hand sewing stitches, you should be feeling confident to get ready to handle a sewing machine. You will get to learn a few simple techniques that include reverse stitch straight stitch, zigzag stitch etc. This enables you to make a plain seam and neaten a seam.
3. Your first project will be how to sew a drawstring pouch. You will get to choose to make a simple drawstring pouch in a printed cotton of your choice a personalized way to store small items.

Provide fabric and materials. Sewing kit will be provided in this class.

• Pins
• Safety pins
• Stitch peeler
• Pen or marker
• Tape measure
• Scissors – paper and fabric, thread cutter, rotary cutter
• Ruler
• Mat for cutting
• Fabric 9” x 21”
• Cotton rope/string
• Threads
• Fabric

Physical class : 2-hour session. Maximum students per class – 5 persons
